As a result of doing the initial organization readiness, identify those individuals and areas tat need to be addresses immediately and execute the plan that was established during initiation.

Establish a strategy to deal with change based upon envisioned solution and organization's readiness to change

Secure key individuals to participate in change management activities. Compliment internal resources with change management consultants (to guide internal resources) if the organization does not have comparable experience in organizational and process change. Assure CM team supports leadership and plans appropriate approach and tasks for each phase of the project. Also plan for addressing changes to the project team (as well as change management leadership and team members.
  Develop Change assessment approach and plan 4
Determine how change of the organization will be measured to allow for effective/timely interventions and focusing of change activities and include in the Change Management Strategy.
Communications Create communications plan 4
Define a detailed task plan of who should receive what type of communication, when and how. The two way communication plan should cover the entire lifecycle of the project, address different level target audiences in a variety of ways. Include leadership and elements that assure buy-in and adoption of change.

  Define communication portal or repository 4
Determine if a repository, project portal or intranet mechanism will be used for the organization/ user community to 'pull' information about the project.
Organization Structure Plan for organizational change 4
Analyze necessary organizational restructuring to address changes and plan for organizational change. Define how the changes to the organization need to occur - including timing, transition, backfilling, early retirement options, layoffs, etc.
Readiness Include key readiness areas in contracts 4
Based upon assessment results and gaps identified during the Initiation phase, include scope readiness areas for inclusion in System Integrator contract.
Education / Training Develop & assess skills level; List skills, identify gaps and plan to bridge gaps 4
Further develop identification of skills needed for implementation team and obtain training. Establish an initial listing of possible end users roles and skills needed for these roles by developing "as-is" task-to-role mapping. Continue identification of skills the new E1 system requires (basic computer literacy, fluency in English, business process knowledge, etc.) that are not in current skills set tasks.
  Refine training strategy for the project team 4
Refine the strategy based on the solution selection, project team size, scope and training requirements.
  Create a plan for training the project team. 4
Define a detailed plan which includes the resources, location, timing, etc. Assure adequate system (software and hardware) is available.
  Refine training strategy for the end users 4
Include end user training as a component to the System Integrator (SI) service requirement. Evaulate the SIs approaches to end user involvement and training.
  Perform initial end user training planning 4
Define an initial plan including: estimates of number of users requiring training, classrooms, servers, data for training, number and source of trainers, scheduling of training, tracking completion of training, interface of training and security.

When planning the project organization, align training individuals with the process teams to assure understanding, consistency and increasing involvement throughout the project.
